2020 RFL season

Our 2020 Relay For Life of Secondlife team Harmony of Hope

Our RFL of SL Relay season has come to an end. What an unusual year for The American Cancer Society and the world. Because of the pandemic Covid19, all of the Relay For Life events around the world have been canceled. RFL of SL is the #1 RELAY! We worked together to bring in over $300 thousand US Dollars!
Thank you to Harmony of Hope team members. Our Relay weekend was awesome! We had a great turn out and walked the track. To all our survivors and caregivers on our team, we Relay for you! To those we have lost, we Relay for you! To our families, we Relay for you!

4th Annual Club Crawl

It is Saturday May 23rd. Tonight and tomorrow we are holding our 4th Annual Club Crawl.
Each year we get other teams with clubs to join us in a friendly competition to see which club can bring in the most lindens to benefit Relay For Life in SL. This year we have 8 clubs joining in the fun. This is our last event of the year. Thank you to all Harmony of Hope team members who helped make this season so successful.

What a great event on May 16th at Relay Rockers -Relay Stock. Our very own DJ Scott was challenged to sing on mic live. What a great sport! Thanks, Scott for putting yourself out there!

Sunday, April 18th we are joining up with Camping For a Cure Team! They are hosting a Pub Crawl with several clubs all united in one great cause. Relay For Life! We will be staying in theme for this event with our own take on Trivial Pursuit. Join us at The Club from 4-10pm See you there!

Harmony of Hope is proud to sponsor United in Relay! Sunday April 5th live music takes over.
Beginning at 12 pm till 6pm a host of live performers will be donating their time and talent to Relay For Life. We hope you can join us for this special afternoon and evening of music.

We are thrilled to have Javier "The Candyman" at The Club. He will be singing live from 3 pm to 4pm. All tips and donations will go toward our Relay!

Harmony of Hope is once again Relaying within secondlife and taking online donations.
We have many great events planned this year to include our annual Club Crawl, live
musican events, Muddy's annual Life is a Beach event and even a carnival. Stay tuned to our website for updated information.

Join Harmony of Hope team as we help host the annual Life is a Beach event at Muddy's Cafe.
This event was the most successful event put on by a club in 2019! The event begins Friday the 28th and runs 24/7 through March 1st! I hope to see you there!

Our Kick off begins February 15th at 10am! Join us for our first team event kick-off night from 4-10pm sl time. We will be holding a fun-filled Mardi Gras event at The Club located on the sim of Yes. We hope to see you there!

We are On Board and Ready to make a difference in this fight!

2019 Brings a few changes

We have dug up our old Harmony of Hope blog! It is so fun to look back but as our Relay season gets ready to kick off we are looking ahead.

2019 is here and Harmony of Hope is ready to go! This year brings with it a few changes. First off is I am back at the helm as our captain. The last 5 years I spent serving at the committee level of RFL of SL and serving as the 2016 and 2017 Event Chair. I am so excited to be back with the forces of
this Relay! I have met with the core members of HOH and we have decided to change it up this year. We will be holding just a few large events as well as a few at different venues. Our 3rd annual Club Crawl will be back better than ever. Cathy10 Longoria is putting together her annaul live musician event. Always amazing! New this year we are planning another large event that we will tell you about later. Be watching for it!

Dianna Wycliffe has been selected to serve on committee this year with the 24 hr Relay we know as Relay Weekend. Good Luck Di. TS is our foundation for our team but will not be co captain this year. That by no means he isn't working hard. I will keep him busy. We have old but NEW Relayers to our team this year. Welcome to Ariel Goldrozen - Stromcrow, Farrell Stormcrow and Ghost Ulich. Ghost has planned some exciting live performances this year.

Over the past year we have lost family and friends to this monster called cancer. Aren't you just tired of hearing cancer stories? We are ready to put on our fighting boots and give it the boot! We appreciate all your support from fellow Relayers and all our team members who are not afraid to ask their real life friends for donations. Get ready to watch us go! GO RELAY WE ARE ON BOARD!

EGG CONTEST and MORE!

As you know we're into Relay season and that means EVENTS are coming your way!

First coming up we have our very own Harmony of Hope team's 3rd Annual Egg Decorating Contest this weekend, March 19-20!! You can get your a template and simply let your creativity shine! This is no yolk...it'll be an eggtastic good time! *insert groans at bad egg jokes here* Just come and prove to everyone that your egg is the best in the carton! Even if you don't enter one personally be sure to stop by and vote for your favourite by dropping those lindens in the kiosk next to it...every linden counts!!! There is the Photo Contest at Fashion for Life...go check out the photos submitted and vote for your favourites by hitting the kiosk next to it! There is still time to enter...the deadline is March 17, 2016.

RFL 2016 IS HERE!

I'd like to tell you a story...a story that right now is a bit of a fairy tale, but with our collective efforts we can make this dreamy tale come true....for everyone to be FREE of CANCER! We're bout to step off into Once Upon a Cure!

Our new season of RFL in Second Life is bout to begin...Kick off is Sunday, March 6th at 10am!! Preceeding that will be the formal Caretaker/Survivors Ball....honouring and celebrating all of you who have faced cancer and slayed that treacherous dragon!

Harmony of Hope is led once again by Dianna Wycliffe-Mousir, the fearless captain with TS Darrow and Cloey Bechir as the co-captains at her side. Along with our amazing team we are going go down the rabbit hole and venture to go farther and higher than we have before!

STAND: An Exhibition of Survivors and Fighters features HOH Members

It's been said many times that no two people travel the same journey, but when it comes to the fight against cancer there is a common bond that can be found in every story you will encounter when you visit STAND: An Exhibition of Survivors and Fighters. This is the brain child of Catalina Staheli, member of the Relay Rockers RFL team and the photographer who generously donates her time to create the "Why Do You Relay? photos, , free of charge (though she has a general donation kiosk that you can contribute) to anyone who makes an appointment.

Two members of our Harmony of Hope team, Cathy10 Longoria and my dad, TS Darrow, participated in this exhibit and are sharing pieces of their stories with the masses.

When it's your story to tell, to open up a wound to the whole SL world you have to consider the courage and strength these two members of our team. So, why would the tell their story? When I'm healing from something I tend to not want not talk nor think about it and do my best to move forward; put the past in the past. However, I had to stop and think what if this were my cancer story? Would I want to share all or even a glimpse into my very personal experience?

It caused me to gain a depth of respect for Cathy, Dad, and the others showcased in this magnificent exhibit. Condensed into a notecard, along with 2-3 simply breath taking photographs Catalina contributed for each featured survivor or fighter; they opened a piece of their real lives...their cancer journey...anywhere from diagnosis to their status today.

That is part of what the Relay for Life campaign is founded on; creating a community of caretakers, survivors and more to create an open dialogue and of course, raise money for the American Cancer Society as they assist the medical community in finding ways to control and even cure the vast and varied forms of cancer that plague our society. In telling their stories, these strong people will give hope and courage to those who are also taking a cancer journey...as a survivor, a caretaker, a fighter...because it's for them we must continue to Relay.

Please take the time to explore this event STAND: A Survivor and Fighters Exhibit LM ; the original dates were May 2-10, 2015 with events happening every day, but it was my understanding that the Relay Rockers have said they will continue to keep the exhibit open until the closing of our relay season. In Honor of My Mom, Love this lady...without her I would be nothing...the past 3 years she has been my rock...she got me through cancer and is now helping my dad on his cancer journey...She is truly my hero and a superwoman!

In Memory of my Mom, Margaret Todd

My Mother died of ovarian cancer on a Memorial Day. She was diagnosed on an Easter Monday. In addition to the cancer, she died after surgery from the complications of a heart attack and stroke. This is before we knew she had cancer and could sign a DNR.

She was a brilliant, loving and hard working woman.She was my best friend and it was the hardest lost I’ve ever taken. This is why I Relay.

"Why I Relay" by Cathy10 Longoria

Hi there, my name is Cathy10 Longoria.

I'm participating in the Second Life 2014 Relay For Life.

I am a proud member of "Harmony of Hope".

I relay in honor of myself as a recent cancer survivor, my father who is currently fighting lymphoma, and my "Fabulous 5" co-workers.

I have colleagues and friends who fought and won their battle with cancer.

This is my first year participating in RFL in SL and Committee.
I have relayed for real world relay events, but never took it seriously until 2013.
My personal battle with thyroid cancer was temporary, but I will have a few minor challenges for the rest of my life. I am glad their is a cure for thyroid cancer.

My father has lymphoma and his battle began in March, 2013. I walk alongside him in his journey with the rest of my family.

My mother is his caregiver and was involved in every step of my journey. She, along with other caregivers, are amazing. My admiration for her magnified ten-fold for her strength to help her daughter through cancer and now her husband in less than three years.

During my time with cancer, four of my co-workers fought their battle with cancer. We are known as the "Fabulous 5". One lost her battle with cancer and the rest of us won our battles.

I relay in honor of myself as a recent cancer survivor, my father who is currently fighting lymphoma, and my "Fabulous 5" co-workers.

I am also the Area Lead for Sponsorships on the Public Relations Committee for Relay for Life in Second Life. Donations and sponsorships are much appreciated...good way to put your Why I Relay? into action.

Why I Relay by TS Darrow

This is my 7th year of relaying in Second Life.

I relay because this Journey of Promise is not over.

I will continue the fight until no one ever has to hear the words "you have cancer".

I relay for those who cannot and for every hero who lost their battle.

I proudly relay with my team Harmony of Hope.

I am also honored to relay with my strong spirited wife who is my inspiration.

Why I Relay by ﾌυﾚ乇丂

I participate in Relay For Life for many reasons. The main reasons behind why I relay are a 14yr old, 13yr old and a 5yr old.

I Relay in hopes that someday the horrors of cancer will be merely a memory when they are adults. So that they, my children, will not have to live in fear.

I participate in Relay For Life to honor the memory of my dear Uncle Charles P. Low. Without whom I would not have the deep burning fire I have to work my tail off every year to help raise awareness and funds to help fight for a cure.

I participate in Relay For Life to honor those who struggle with this horrible disease in one form or another everyday.

I Relay to honor those who are survivors, who are or have been caregivers, who lost their battle or won it...

I Relay for my family, for my neighbor, for the future generations and most of all for YOU! Each and every one of you... & I will continue to Relay until there is no longer a reason.

HARMONY OF HOPE 2014

We're back!

Welcome to Harmony of Hope 2014

We are a Relay for Life of Second Life team raising money for The American Cancer Society.
This is Harmony of Hope's 7th year. From March to July, we hold fund raisers to earn money for our teams. Each and every Linden is sent directly to the American Cancer Society to fund research, programs, services and to help find a cure!

This is my first year as Captain. Random Darrow has been our amazing Captain for the last 6 years. She is still a huge part of relay, serving as Co-Chair for Relay for Life of Second life. She will be helping to lead all of the teams through our incredible season this year. She's the reason I'm part of this great group of volunteers. She has taught me and led me to where I am today. I'm incredibly proud and excited for her. I'm honored to call her my friend!

This will be my 6th year relaying. When I was first told about relay I was so happy to be part of something that will eventually wipe out cancer. Both my grandparents died of cancer, both my uncles and in April 2012 I lost my mother.

I'm in this for the long haul.

I will fight to the end.

I relay for my family, my children, their children and my friends.

I relay for those who fought and won, those still fighting, and those we lost.

Until there is a cure...We RELAY!
